Julia Sanna MS. LMFT, LMHC received her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida. She is dual licensed as a marriage & family therapist and a mental health counselor in the State of Florida. Julia is a Clinical Fellow with the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, a Clinical member of the South Florida Association of Christian Counselors, a verified provider on Psychology Today and Therapy For Black Girls. She has been providing therapy since 2007. She was trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Theory and Brief Therapy Modalities. She works with clients from a possibilities point of view, helping them thrive in their everyday life.
Julia is a court Registered Marriage Preparation Provider in Palm Beach County, a Certified PREPARE-ENRICH Counselor, a Trained PREP/CPREP instructor and a Torn Asunder Facilitator (affair-recovery). She has previously worked in the healthcare industry - health insurance organizations, providing behavior therapy to developmentally delayed children as a behavior therapist and running groups as an Alzheimer's Certified Support Group Facilitator & Crisis Line Counselor. She also served as a Family Counselor at a church in Lake Worth, Florida providing counseling and facilitating support groups to members and the community. She continues to facilitate mental health conversations in the African American community and faith-based organizations. Along with diaspora therapists, she also provides online webinars targeted to the African continent. She is available to consult, speak and present at workshops, seminars and conferences.
Julia was born in Nairobi, Kenya and has a unique understanding and empathy of cultural issues affecting relationships and personal growth. She is a wife and a mother of four. Her favorite past times are amateur astronomy, performing with their afrofusion band Positively Africa, watching movies and reading.
